Poverty & Inequality

Growing inequality and rapid urbanization, two defining themes of our world today, are inextricably linked. Cities are loci of opportunity, but there are drastic differences in access to such opportunity. The research in this theme focuses on various topics linked to urban life and various types of economic and socio-spatial inequality, bringing an interdisciplinary array of methods to bear on questions around perceptions of inequality, financial behavior of the urban poor, territorial stigmatization, and how technology can be used to create more inclusive cities as well as many more topics in the future.
