Laura Metzger is an Assistant Professor in International Economics at Radboud University’s Nijmegen School of Management and an affiliate researcher with the Development Economics Group at ETH Zurich and Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) at the Harvard Kennedy School. Laura is an applied microeconomist, researching topics in development economics, behavioral economics, and public policy. She studies the use of data and evidence in policymaking, as well the allocation and impact of development finance with a particular focus on China as an emerging donor. Laura has held various positions in policy and academia, including with the Jacobs Foundation, the German Development Bank KfW, GfA Consulting Group, ETH Zurich, and Harvard. She received her PhD in development economics from ETH Zurich and rejoined the Development Economics Group as a research affiliate in December 2020 after having finished her Postdoc at the Harvard Kennedy School.
